Personal Training Prices:

Personal training sessions at Art of Kickboxing can be used for any martial arts training, self-defence scenario, or specific training that Art of Kickboxing provides. These sessions can also be used for simply getting a casual cardiovascular fitness workout in.

Each personal training session is 1 hour (60 minutes) in duration. We also provide 90-minute personal training sessions at a different rate.

For example, a 5-session pack can be used to train in something in MMA for one session, and then learn something from kickboxing or boxing in the next session.

We recommend that students learn the basics of kickboxing, boxing, Muay Thai, or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) at Art of Kickboxing before requesting to train in MMA.

1 Session: $100/Session (1 Hour)

A single personal training session in MMA is perfect for those who want to train casually for fun, get in some cardio exercise, or practice combining striking techniques with grappling techniques.

5-Session Pack: $450 (Equivalent to $90/Session)

Five personal training sessions in MMA can introduce a newcomer to the basics of Judo, Wrestling, or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), which you’ll then utilize in combinations that include either boxing, kickboxing, or Muay Thai striking techniques.

10-Session Pack: $850 (Equivalent to $85/Session)

Ten personal training sessions in MMA allow a beginner to become adept at the basics of MMA, including the utilization of knee and elbow combinations in unique grappling transitions, with enough sessions to develop the muscle memory required for long-lasting technique retention.

12-Session Pack: $960 (Equivalent to $80/Session)

Twelve personal training sessions at Art of Kickboxing provide enough time to introduce a beginner to martial arts to the basics of multiple martial arts, including: Muay Thai, kickboxing, and boxing, or master the fundamentals of one of these martial arts.

If you have a specific self-defence scenario you’d like advice on how to defend yourself against, we’re open to teaching you as well.

For example, you want to learn how you could defend yourself against a violent face-to-face, up-close scenario in an elevator. Feel free to let us know what you’d like to work on.

We also hold Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) classes at Art of Kickboxing, along with providing personal training sessions for BJJ for those interested in developing their grappling skills further.

Private Mixed Martial Arts Lessons

1-on-1 Private Personal MMA Training: What to Expect

MMA Training Details: Combining Striking & Grappling Techniques

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training combines the most effective techniques from striking and grappling disciplines, giving you a complete fighting system. It integrates punches, kicks, elbows, and knees from arts like boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai with grappling, takedowns, and submissions from wrestling, judo, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. MMA trains you to strike and grapple seamlessly at close, mid, and long range—adapting to any situation, even in tight or chaotic environments. In our private MMA sessions, you’ll develop versatile skills that prepare you for all aspects in a violent hand-to-hand self-defence scenario.

  • Integrate Striking with Grappling Skills
Learn to deliver powerful punches, kicks, elbows, and knees with precision and versatility. Drawing from boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai, you’ll develop fluid combinations that work at all ranges—long distance kicks, mid-range punches, and close-quarters elbows and knees—maximizing your offensive and defensive options.

  • Clinch Control and Grappling Transitions
Move beyond striking with expert clinch control and takedown setups. Using Muay Thai clinch techniques alongside judo grips and wrestling takedowns, you’ll learn to dominate close-range combat, off-balance opponents, execute sweeps, and transition smoothly from striking to grappling.

  • Ground Control and Submissions
From wrestling and judo, master takedowns, positional control, and submission holds to finish fights on the mat. Develop the confidence to control opponents on the ground and apply chokes, joint locks, or ground-and-pound tactics.

FAQS

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What Times are Available for Personal Training Sessions?

Personal training is typically available anytime that we are not holding classes, which means you can expect times around 10:00am-3:00pm, Monday-Saturday. We’re very flexible at Art of Kickboxing, let us know what times you’d like to come in for personal training, and we’ll let you know if that time is available. See our class training schedule.

2. Can I combine different martial arts (like Kickboxing or Muay Thai) within my personal training sessions?

Yes! It’s up to you what you’d like to focus on during your personal training sessions, but we can only generally focus on one request per training session. Many students cross-train by mixing in techniques or scenarios from Muay Thai, kickboxing, BJJ, or MMA—especially in longer packs like the 10 or 12-session options.

3. Can two people share a personal training session if we both want to train together?

For those who want to train together privately, we offer private 2-person group sessions at a different rate. See here for the pricing options. Two-person group sessions are a great option for siblings, parents and kids, couples, or friends training at the same level.

4. What’s the difference between personal training and regular group classes at Art of Kickboxing?

Personal training is fully tailored to what you want to focus on, your goals, pace, and skill level. Group classes follow a structured curriculum and incorporate partnered pad work with different students. In private sessions, you get personalized, detailed corrections, flexible scheduling, and focused attention that’s hard to match in a group environment. They’re great for people who have accessibility needs, such as debilitating health conditions, or even social anxiety.

5. Why Train in Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)?

MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) provides the most complete and adaptable system for real-world hand-to-hand self-defence situations. It combines the precision and head movement of boxing, the powerful strikes and footwork of kickboxing, and the close-range control of Muay Thai—while also adding takedowns, submissions, and ground control from wrestling and judo.

Unlike training in just one discipline, MMA prepares you to fight effectively at every range: standing, clinched, or on the ground. Whether you need to strike, grapple, defend, or escape, MMA gives you the tools to adapt in unpredictable, high-pressure situations. It’s not just about fighting—it’s about being ready for anything.
