Our Kickboxing Training Program

At Art of Kickboxing, kickboxing is the primary martial art that we teach, as it helps students learn how to blend punches and kicks smoothly. But we don’t stop there — we adapt and expand kickboxing with elements from other martial arts to make it more complete and effective for all situations.

Unlike the many kickboxing gyms or studios in Metro Vancouver that stay locked into one martial arts style, we train striking, along with teaching takedowns and grappling. This means students learn to protect themselves from a wrestler or someone trained in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

Instead of teaching the same kickboxing techniques over and over again, we built a training system that blends the best techniques from multiple disciplines. This gives you skills that are effective, adaptable, and have no outdated habits.  Through our classes that teach different martial arts, students always have new techniques to master and improve on, establishing one of the best value martial arts class membership programs in Metro Vancouver.

The way we train at Art of Kickboxing looks a lot like what you see in the UFC when top-level strikers compete. While kickboxing is the core martial art we teach, training at Art of Kickboxing extends to high-level MMA training, making you a complete martial artist — adaptable in all situations, with strong punches, smart footwork, heavy kicks, and balance that keeps you safe from being taken down.

Our unique kickboxing striking style integrates kickboxing, boxing, karate, and Muay Thai into a complete striking system for both MMA and practical self-defense. Kickboxing: Foundation of Fluid Striking

From kickboxing, we bring the combinations — blending punches and kicks seamlessly. Kickboxing builds the rhythm and striking foundation that every martial arts student needs.

Boxing: Sharp Hands & Smart Defence

From boxing, we take sharp hands, footwork, and defence — but we add the awareness to deal with kicks, which pure boxing doesn’t cover. Boxing develops precision, timing, and the ability to control exchanges with speed and accuracy.

Muay Thai: Power, Low Kicks, and Conditioning

From Muay Thai, we use the powerful kicks, low kicks, and conditioning — but we avoid standing tall or clinching endlessly, because in an MMA or street situation, that makes you vulnerable to takedowns. Muay Thai adds close-quarter adaptability, devastating leg attacks, and body conditioning that prepares you for real contact.

Karate: Movement, Angles, and Distance Control

From karate, we use the movement, distance control, and angles. But unlike traditional karate, we also blend in strong hands and close-range fighting. Karate teaches how to create openings with quick footwork and disciplined positioning.

This hybrid training develops highly skilled, adaptable fighters, providing a level of expertise and value that sets us apart from standard kickboxing gyms in Metro Vancouver. At Art of Kickboxing, students gain skills that traditional kickboxing doesn’t teach, such as defending against aggressive attackers in close quarters, countering grapple and takedown techniques, managing multiple threats, and maintaining balance under real-world pressures, all while building new skills, developing self-esteem, and learning about different martial arts.
